Your waiting period should be announced in advance. I know that many people are not forthright and get insurance after the fact. I signed up for my dog for the long haul and I would have paid the whole year upfront. All i want to do is bring my dog in for its annual check up and add on services i ordered when I started the insurance.

I purchased Pumpkin pet insurance at the beginning of 2024. Their pricing was transparent and it was very easy to submit claims. My dog ran into some very unexpected health issues and ultimately passed away due to the issues. Pumpkin staff was kind, compassionate, and helpful in providing information about cancelling the insurance plan. Without being asked, they shared that insurance can be used to cover euthanasia and cremation costs. Pumpkin sent condolence emails and a memorial item in remembrance of my dog. I will absolutely use Pumpkin in the future when I am ready for another pet.

My Pretty Girl
I decided to use Pumpkin after a stray cat found me. I named her Pretty Girl. After two months, I realized she was pregnant. She gave birth to 5 kittens, I decided to keep two of her kittens and friends took the others. Tragedy struck and Pretty Girl was hit by a car and one of her babies I kept (Little Bit) was attacked and killed by my neighbors dog. Always a good experience with Pumpkin Insurance. My kitty now has kidney disease and it's really comforting to know I have the support of insurance so I do not have to spare expense for my boy. It was a great investment to do for a few years so eventually it would cover health expenses. Pumpkin usually gets to my claims within a week and the money is deposited into my account the day the claim is reviewed. My one phone call discussing what was covered when I first signed up was very helpful and the employee was kind. All employees I have emailed with have been very pleasant and punctual. Can't recommend enough, just please understand it's an investment in the future and not something to get after your pet has been diagnosed.

My first experience with pet insurance since we had mainly adopted much older cats and some with chronic health issues. I added the wellness coverage as well and his annual exam, fecal, rabies shot and standard cbc were covered. Filing the claim was quick and easy and payment was fast. I hope my cat has a long and healthy life but rest easier knowing I will never have to refuse necessary treatments due to cost since I am now retired. I looked long and hard at other companies, but Pumpkin was the best deal for my needs.

This was the first time I filed a claim with Pumpkin. The process is a bit cumbersome as each receipt must be filed on a separate form. However, credit of expenses to my deductible and a check submitted for the excess balance of eligible claims was quick and accurate.
