I love my pumpkin Insurance. When I bought it I thought well I don’t know if I’ll ever use this, my little girl is like a baby to me, and I wanted her to be insured. Then one night December 7th she got so sick and was throwing up blood. I had to take her to the emergency vet and after I hit my deductible, which for me was $500 dollars Pumpkin paid 90% of all my bills. I am so happy that I was smart enough to buy Pumpkin insurance. She just finished her medicine and I’m hoping that I don’t have to take her back to her veterinarian, but just knowing I have, Pumpkin? is such a piece of mind for me.

We had an emergency situation with our senior cat, and the overall claim process was very smooth, all online, sharing the vet’s information fast. The coverage was exactly what we agreed on our contract selection, took a couple of weeks for the review process to complete since we (Mom’s and Dad’s fault) did not submit our pets vet chart on time, however it was pretty clear and fast once they received all the details. Pumpkin has been an absolute lifesaver for us! They reimburse quickly for all visits/medications to treat non-preexisting conditions, without putting up any barriers. One time a claim was rejected due to a mistake on how it was inputted by the vet’s office on the invoice, but when I called and spoke to someone with Pumpkin, they followed up on it and called me back to let me know what I needed to do on my end when resubmitting it. Everyone I’ve spoken to there has been nothing but kind and helpful and it never takes long to reach someone. The yearly rate increase is very minimal to none, which is amazing, considering what I’ve heard about rate increases with other insurance companies. When I count my blessings, Pumpkin is one of them!

I have not ever had pet insurance before getting this policy for our cat Bob when we rescued him from a local dump where he had been thrown away at 5 weeks old. As he grew I had a feeling he would need help and so I got this policy. Pumpkin has made it possible for me to save him after being attacked by a Bobcat only 15 feet from our back door. Pumpkin has been quick in evaluating our claims and paying them so we can continue to have Bob be treated of his extensive injuries. I am retired and have always had animals but with retirement comes a fixed income and without this coverage Bob would not have been able to be treated as his bills are going to reach our policy limit very soon. I suggest that anyone who thinks they will never need this has to ask themselves this question: when I have to put financial decisions above my pet's welfare will I think that monthly premium was worth it? Just do it and rest assured this company has your back.

After 5 eventless years with Pumpkin, I finally needed some care for my pup and it was scary as she was facing a double surgery. I submitted the surgeon’s estimate and got approval almost immediately, which definitely helped immensely with peace of mind. After the surgery, I submitted the final bill and was reimbursed within 24 hours. It really helped not having to stress over that aspect of the whole ordeal and to be able to focus on my dog’s recovery instead. The website is very easy to use and submitting paperwork is a cinch. My kitty passed away a few months ago, she was with Pumpkin as well. They sent out a pretty, scented candle with her name on it. I very much appreciated that thoughtfulness!

I almost never leave reviews, so candidly it's more than a little surprising that I would be taking the time to add a review for - of all things - an insurance company. After all, by their very nature, it's usually not a positive situation that results in interacting with insurance companies... but these guys deserve a top star rating. I've had their insurance for my 15 year old Siberian Husky for a few years now, and (thankfully) only during this last year have I really needed to make use of it, but I was *delighted* to find that when it did become time to really lean on the insurance company for help with some rather major vet bills (Glaucoma related eye surgery and care being the big one), Pumpkin did *exactly* what they promised. They reimbursed/covered expenses that would have really strained my bank account almost immediately and without hassle once I hit my deductible. There were no wild hoops to jump through, no endless form submission and resubmissions... in fact their online claim submission is incredibly easy to work with to the point that submitting a claim takes literally 60 seconds or less after initial setup. I don't know how much longer I'll have with Phoenix, but I can say with certainty that having Pumpkin Insurance for him has guaranteed that I'll get every possible minute of *quality* life with him thanks to being able to make decisions based purely on giving him the care he needs. Top notch company, and I'd recommend them in a heartbeat to anyone with a pet.

Our situation was urgent at about 10:00 at night. Our little 18 lb Skipper was throwing up suddenly first his earlier dinner and then water. All the people at VEG were all very kind and concerned. They ran many tests to rule out possible issues. We were there until about 3 am. Skipper was in pain from throwing up and was given pain meds. In the end it was a gastritis event. We are very thankful for care and knowing we had insurance in place to help us. We submitted the claim and it was processed immediately.
