I never seen an appraisal in my life. However, before I can even look at it, VU has a video explaining what it is and goes line by line. I'll be honest, it was a shot in the dark with me purchasing a home for my family. About 3 or 4 years ago My credit was terrible but I reached out to see what could I do.. I called Veterans United and the young man that answered got straight to the point and told me what I need to focus on. Needless to say I did not get approved back then. I waited and waited and put the effort in, in between time. I live in a terrible neighborhood, 1 situation I witnessed was enough to remind me that i have a benefit to use so I called on approximately October 22 2025. I met my loan officer Mr. Lippmann, there was another guy I met as well I just cant remember his name. Anyway, I explained to basically everyone how I need to take my family out of this neighborhood. They understood the assignment and ill be honest again, I thought this was going to be a slow painful process.. I stated my application October 22 and I just closed on my first November 14. My family and I are proud to say we own our first home in a waaaaayyyy better neighborhood, with friendly people, heck, the weather is even better. All and all the employees that work here do bend over backwards to make it happen if you qualify 😉. Nothing is given you earned the benefit, you just have to put in the effort to use it. It took me 3 or 4 years to clean up financial issues I cheated almost 15 years ago. The wait is worth it. Trust me!! Thank god for this organization.

Ignorance is costly
So far, the only complaints I have are the extra fees (which are an unfortunate consequence of dealing with any lending institution) and not being adequately informed of the procedures for filing a claim on the warranty I purchased with my home. My HVAC system went out within a few months of purchasing my house. Because I didn't know the correct process for filing a claim, I was refused the warranty coverage I paid for. It cost me an extra $11,000.

Veteran's United genuinely cares about people and their customers. They treat you as "family", not just another customer. Once they prepare you, via prior approval, to purchase a home, get you through the process of purchasing a home, then closing, that's not the end. They continue to partner with you. For example, we purchased our home 2 years ago, but when interest rates dropped a couple of weeks ago, Ryan Schuermann reached out to us to offer refinancing! This was the second time! What company/companies actually take the time to keep up with customers in this way? We don't know of any. VU and Ryan are absolutely AMAZING! In addition, the professionalism, knowledge, patience, and kindness demonstrated by Ryan and Jessica, are all qualities that contributed to my wife and my desire to do business with Veteran's United. We were a little skeptical at first, because these qualities seemed to good to be true. However, it's been 2 YEARS since we purchased our home and NOTHING HAS CHANGED! Ryan and Jessica are still AMAZING!
