Mr. Cooper payment
I had a loan from Mr. Cooper which Rocket owns now and I couldn’t talk to a live person with Mr. Cooper because Rocket reps couldn’t transfer me and Mr. Cooper phone number is only computer generated. I called Mr. Cooper prior to my closing to stop payment and they took payment anyhow. 😡

Initially the company was great
Initially the company was great. Responsive, not over salesy, transparent about process and my situation. After that, the customer service reps especially online were unhelpful, often sending me on a wild goose chase for my own answers. They were short, unhelpful, and down right rude. Although my situation was a difficult one, you are all getting paid to do this work. They also charge enormous fees for very little work on their end. Finally, the title company told me I’d owe $23k at the table after buying my ex out of his share. After pressuring them, they finally called the county and it reduced to $6k, what I originally expected. I don’t think I’d use rocket mortgage again.

Too many changes along the way with…
Too many changes along the way with little input from me. The loan amount changed, the points changed, a 7 year ARM became a conventional 30 year mortgage and the interest rate changed. I realize I did not have to accept the terms but the process had become so drawn out that I didn't want to wait anymore. Also, Rocket decided to take funds from the refinance to write a check to pay off a balance on one credit source, send it to me which I then had to mail to the credit source. This was even though Every credit card balance due has been paid in full every month for years!

The requirements for the loan were explained to me clearly and didn't seem to change as the application process continued. And the process was rather speedy in comparison to another competitor's process that eventually did not end well. Everyone was kind and empathic! I actually closed on my house BEFORE the closing date! The team was very informative and everything was done in a timely manner. If you have doubts, please don’t hesitate to ask! Worse anyone can say is no. I had my doubts and asked anyways and before I know it with a soft pull credit check, I was conditionally approved! I found a home for my children and I and we moved in a month and half later! Very trust worthy and worth it!

The process was way longer than I had imagined. As far as loans go, the amount we borrowed wasn't really a huge amount. It would have been nice to get one email letting us know all the documents we would need to scan and send. It seemed we got a new email every other day requesting something new.
