Wasn't sure if I could/would want to refinance for home renovations that needed updated but decided to go ahead. Rocket mortgage was easy to work with and understanding when issues arose. Not exactly what I consider honest
The process was easy & relatively quick EXCEPT for payment of my credit cards! I was informed they would be paid within a week of closing: it has been 2 weeks and counting. I understand you probably delay paying them until the last possible moment to earn interest/dividends on the $ I borrowed & am paying interest on, but that is dishonest and not what I was told would happen!

I appreciate the opportunity to get equity out of my home even though my credit score was only "fair". The ease of using the website to provide documents needed made the process move seamlessly. My only concern was that a creditor I had told my agent not to payoff was still included in the closing, which is fine, yet showed a failure in communication. For the most part, it was still a mostly positive experience.

Keep your guard up!
Due to major health issues in 2025, I took on some debt to keep things flowing. Once my health issue was dealt with, we decided the best way forward was to take out enough equity from our home to pay everything down to zero. I reached out to Rocket and received an offer with a high interest rate but not a deal breaker. I also had a plan b offer with my first mortgage company with a similar rate. I chose to move forward with Rocket. They pull our credit which showed our debt, credit score etc. credit score was over 730 but we had a lot of debt to pay. A few days go by and I’m told the rate is going up a whole point due to debt income ratio. I almost backed out but after getting bumped up to a new loan specialist, I was assured that he had ways of fixing the numbers to get everything in line. 2 weeks go by and he comes back with a new estimate but the interest rate has to stay higher due to debt income ratio and he was forcing me to pay off a zero percent low monthly payment loan to keep my debt income in line. Side note, how does debt income change when the debt is the same??? Anyway, we were too far into the process and at this point need to close so we accept the offer. A week later we receive 19 checks made out to debtors that we have to fill in account numbers, put in an envelope and send in. This is when I discovered that 3 of my debts that I thought were mine being paid were instead my wife’s. We had credit cards from the same bank on a few occasions. They somehow didn’t show up when Rocket pulled my credit report so I tried to get these 3 debts paid instead of my one zero interest loan and was told too late, sorry. From beginning to end we felt like we were bamboozled with the rate, bamboozled by not listing clearly what and who’s debt was being paid and strung along until we broke to accept their loan terms, knowing we were under the gun to get things straightened out. I would definitely steer anyone away from trusting Rocket with your home equity loan needs.

Honestly, in my 30+ years of home buying, this experience ranks at the top for simplicity. The entire Rocket team was always professional, courteous and driven to a successful outcome. My loan originator, Bill Garzon, stood by me for over a year during a challenging buyers market and through numerous cancelled contracts. He went above and beyond through the point where he handed me off to the next Rocket contact, Randy Osterlund, my purchase specialist. Randy Osterlund provided the same excellent level of service and support that Bill provided. He was always current on status and next steps and proactively reached out to let me know how things were going. Never did I feel the need to drive Rocket for updates, they always were one step ahead of me which is music to my ears. Lastly, the entire experience was honest and smooth. It felt a little too easy that I started second-guessing myself. :) I successfully closed on my new home purchase with ease and I'm thankful to my Rocket team for all of their support, professionalism and respect.

Didn't like the processing of my waiting for the Checks to pay off Creditors waiting for Checks to Arrive then trying to get account numbers and mailing addresses, a manual process that took hours.
The Process works exceptionally well my only concern it that it's left up to the Customer to take the Checks for Payouts of Credit Cards and they are required to make the Payments directly to the Banks and Credit Intuitions. I found that it was difficult to find the Mailing address of each Credit Lender and after several hours I got all 6 Checks & Envelopes ready. The 2nd problem is that I mailed them all on the 12th of January and it's been 10 Days later and only 1 has been Paid off. It would seem to me that you would have all the necessary info from checking Credit Records and would have been able to electronically able to complete this process much quicker. I'm still paying on payments that I thought would have been paid off before 10 days have past. Now, my concern is I will have to pull money out of other places to cover the continue schedule of payments which are starting the next months cycle of payments to keep my Credit rating from getting hit with missing a payment. Quite a Burden that was really unnecessary if you the Lender had just paid directly.

You felt like you were fed info when they were ready for you to know, not when you wanted to know. With Rocket Mortgage & Blake Griffith it was a 100% turnaround ! We were kept up to date almost daily. We were advised & even asked how we wanted things not just told how they would be. Rocket is really a different and much better way to go because they are working with you as well as for you. Rocket really cares about the customer, they listen ! Blake Griffith was the man who handled our loan & he was there for us at every turn. He knew all the answers without hesitation. Always so very nice, never once had to wait on him to talk to me, he would even text me if he was in a meeting ! He made me feel important, I thank him for being there because I felt lost a lot until speaking with him. He got a lot done for our loan in no time at all.
