Have worked with Rocket for over a decade, and have referred multiple clients to them. They have always worked hard, had a customer service focus and their fees are near industry lows. I'll continue to work with them, and refer clients to them.

Push so hard to close quickly they miss the details.
I liked the rate we received. The online tools are helpful. Did not like how often we received calls, emails and text telling us to update and finish documents. We would take the time to log in just to see nothing waiting on us. The first appraiser never showed up. We made multiple appointments with him. We were asked by Rocket why we didn’t follow through on those appraisals. Rocket needs to do a better job vetting their subs. The company that was able to the appraisal was great. We had multiple people from Rocket contact us about the state of our loan. We were never sure who to contact with concerns and issues. Some of the people we talked to were unhelpful and condescending. One point of contact would be helpful.

How I got from under a mountain of credit card debt.
The entire process of refinancing was quick and easy. Everything from beginning to end went far quicker than previous refinances. I was in a mountain of credit card debt but had not considered refinancing until Mr. Kruger reached out to me. I was able to pay off that debt with extra to do some things around the house. Now, my credit score should get back into the 800s. Mr. Kruger was pleasant, personable and extremely professional. Many thanks to him and those that worked the loan.

The process was thorough which we understood, but the loan processing felt cumbersome, I found it easier to get a 3,500,000.00 loan then this 250,000.00. It seemed that the underwriting and other financial disciplines in the company were in different offices and took a long time to make decisions. I felt that we were not kept in loop as the borrower very well. Our Broker Ryan Bowe did a good job and needs commending, my negative comments are not about him as he did his best. I realize that Rocket Mortgage is a decentralized company so maybe nothing can be done, but as a businessman I want to know the good and the negative.

Technology speeds up the process but communication lacking
The process begins with a loan manager who determines which loan product serves you best and completes the application. The underwriting team begins review and you may need help from a resolution specialist to resolve outstanding questions they have. After this point, communication drops off and you are left pretty uninformed about status,timelines, appraisal, etc. It's up to you to contact a human for an update bc the online portal will just show in progress. Received outstanding assistance and support from Resolution Specialist Dana Gold.

The only concern that I had and suggestion that I would make is that you find a better way with paying off debt without the borrower running all over town to get it done. The closing team was not the greatest. Everything went beautifully until then. There was poor communication, extended wait times (hour plus) to get questions answered. On line attempts at question answering was useless as I was constantly told to contact the team by phone. I was given directions tk calm in a certain time frame if closing notaries had not contacted us. I did so and the individual in the phone interrupted me and told me I was wrong. Amelia was wonderful! Very helpful! The closing notary, Amber I believe, was also superb!
