We have worked with Rocket Mortgage for several years and a few refinances. They are quick and efficient. Everything is online, digital, or virtual and it is set up with ease to understand. We really like how there is nothing hidden. You know what costs to expect all up front. We also like that they will explain things and run numbers with you, so you know what is possible, before asking for all the nitty gritty details. Overall pretty smooth transaction. Even when everything is complete, it is easy to manage loan details and payments.

I did not like how long the process took. I was under the impression that my debtors would be paid directly. The honus was on me to pay everyone from escrow. That should have been explained at some point.

We were happy with the results of the refinance experience, although it was more impersonal than we would have liked.
All facts, figures, amounts projected were easy to follow as we went through them through our computer communications. The whole experience was basically by email, however the few times I needed to call, Austin and the closing team were easy to talk to and very reassuring. The chat bots were not as helpful. The only person I talked to in person was the notary, Alice Hulburt, who came to the house at our request to help us with the computer end of the closing. Alice was very personable, explained everything as we went through it and left with us feeling very reassured when the transactions were completed. I know this is the computer age, but in dealing with something as important as this I prefer to be able to talk to someone face to face. Overall, the process went very well.

Not just that, but the interest rate with which we received our mortgage loan was fantastic. Brandon Uren, who our loan process originally started with was fantastic. He went above and beyond helping my family even after our loan got moved to different processors throughout the transaction. After that it was extremely frustrating. Having to explain things 3-5 times to multiple people, our original repair holdback getting submitted inaccurately by the loan processor so it was denied and ended up costing us money. If not for Brandon, I would not recommend working with Rocket Mortgage or using them myself again in the future. He seriously saved the experience for us.

Thought my credit card bills would be paid automatically by Rocket but they sent checks (I was out of town for Christmas so had to get someone to go get them in) and then I had to go online for each card and try to print the statement page with the address and then mail the checks. Seems like with all the automated stuff that happens, this could be automated also.
