Communication by Evelyn was top notch as we knew where we stood during the loan process. She helped us old folks learn how to do Docu-sign which was over our competence level be she made it easy. She worked to smooth out trouble spots and take as much off our shoulders as possible which allowed us to breathe easier. Evelyn along with Apex Title made the final signing process easy enough although a 2" high stack of documents to sign was rather daunting. Hopefully I'll never have to get another construction loan but if I do, I'll come back to New American Funding and request Evelyn McDonald.

"I have spoken with Juan since the beginning of October to our closing on February 6th. 5 months of talking, planning and figuring out the perfect solution and a new chapter to my husband and myself we craved so much. Juan has been hands on through the whole process of buying our first home. I would not trust anyone as much as I trusted Juan to get things done. He is truly one of the best, and one of a kind. We worked with Neal Brown. The first week he was great and communication was great ( I assume just so he can get us locked in so he can get the commission) after that, we didn’t hear from him. We had absolutely no idea what was going on with our loan ( we were first time home buyers and had no idea how the process worked). He would ignore my agent and myself emails. I finally texted him and had to ask if he was still working with us. He told me our appraisal was going to be turned in by Jan 7th. Come to find out Jan 17th they still had not received it. No one was following up on either. Appraisal was done Dec 31st there should have been no reason for the delay. Once we got the appraisal it was filled out incorrectly, I texted Neal ( cause again he was not keeping me updated and he said “ all is good” come to find out 4 days later, Bill said we were waiting on HOA to email us information back to update the appraisal. Neal again never advised me there was yet another delay.. when I asked Neal about it, he told me to have my agent reach out to the hoa. Why would that be my agents job and not the lender? Till this day I have yet to hear from Neal, I just closed yesterday ( by the way I got the final numbers as I was on my way to closing) there should have been no reason we were cutting it this close. The communication was awful and was like pulling teeth to get some kind of answer. As mentioned, being a first time home buyer it would have been nice to have someone assist with the process and not just leave us hanging.
