Jamie Ohlsen was fantastic. She was super responsive, always available when we needed something. When we decided to put a down payment on a house she called the sellers agent and assured them that we would be great buyers. That made all the difference in getting the house, if not for that we would’ve missed out because there was a competing offer that was higher than ours.
Better Mortgage messed up my 1st loan application. I was preapproved, but then they denied my loan on the last day of the financial contingency. I already had everything ready to go, utilities set up, furniture and appliances scheduled to ship. And I had to cancel all that. They should never had let me go that far and denied my loan at the end. It let down so many parties. I asked them how much I could qualify if I could not qualify for the original amount. They had me filled out a 2nd application. On the 2nd application, they verified that I should have qualified for the original loan amount. So I had to go through the process all over again. This time the seller didn't trust me because I canceled the contract on the last day of the financial contingency. I had to put down non-refundable deposit for the seller to sell me the house. Anyway, they did approve the same loan on my 2nd application. I was able to buy the house eventually. But due to the mistake they made on my first loan application, I now have a higher interest rate (because mortgage rates have gone up since then), and I spent so much time on canceling all the deliveries and getting refunds on them. If you want to use Better Mortgage, make sure they fully qualify you very early in the process.
This is my second experience with Better and I think they are just the best! The entire process is so easy and Brian Popp was extremely helpful from the very beginning of the process. He answered all my questions and was very responsive and professional. I can honestly say that I was not a bit stressed out during the entire mortgage process and this is the first time I can ever say that. I also want to commend Chantel Childrey for guiding me through the process and always be available when I had questions. Thank you Better and crew for helping us with our home buying process. We couldn't be happier with you all!

Two major pros: - Significant $avings compared to alternatives - Online process was *usually* well organized One significant con: - When there were relatively minor problems, the process for correcting them was obscure at best. For example, we decided to opt-out of owners' title insurance, but in spite of many reminders, that wasn't corrected until 4 pm on the day before closing. There were at least three other similar disconnects. It seems like in the name of efficiency, Better doesn't empower the point of contact to fix problems directly.
The whole experience, from beginning to end, was quick, efficient and effortless. I had been looking for refinance options for 6 months before working with Better. Each other company was charging exorbitant closing fees, and made the process of submitting documentation miserable. The last one had terrible communication that just felt like I was getting the run around and being taken advantage of. Then came Better. From the start, everything was transparent and easy. Took a little over one month to complete my refi from start to finish, and ended up saving a ton of money over the other companies. I would highly recommend anybody interested in a home loan or refi, start with Better and save yourself the time and energy.

Good rates, low fees. I really like the ability to play with terms/points on my own time rather than in a broker's office. The process is entirely online / remote - which I prefer, but isn't for everybody. No issues closing on time. There were a couple minor hiccups along the way that a more high-touch approach might have avoided, but I'll trade a little vigilance for the lower fees any day.

Overall working with Better was a great experience. Getting a pre-approval letter is real fast. Some things to consider when working with Better, make sure you have access to your whole financial situation. Things that can at can delay and ruining your experience if you work sales and make commission, if you receive RSU (restricted stock units) from an employer. One issue I had was I did not attached my checking account as an asset and there was not an easy way to fix that. In all it was a great experience and we were able to close on the date promised. I would use Better again.

Best experience ever, better.com helped on close on a house within 3 weeks , overall process was easy and well defined , we got the final approval from sellers on 12/12 and our closing was done successfully on 12/22 , we locked down the rate on 11/30 , during this period mortgage rates went down , so even though i had locked the rates better.com helped me reduce the rate based on market conditions, going forward better.com would be my first choice for any mortgage needs

My only comment would be to have better control over the automated processes for people who don't need certain things. For example I already had an a completed appraisal before applying which turned out to be a bit difficult to use with the automation.

Better saved my home buying process! I had originally been working with another lender when making offers on homes and eventually had one accepted before the previous lender started giving me issues. With an offer accepted and a closing date already scheduled, I sought out help with Better. Everyone I worked with at Better was fantastic (especially Kody Powell and Luke Holden) and helped me get approved and everything squared away in time to have a closing on a very quick turnaround. I could not be happier with my experience. If it wasn't for Better, I would not be a homeowner right now.

Everything except closing can be done online, very easy to read online instructions and exactly what documents need to be submitted, and can electronically sign. Very fast turnaround time and Brie was extremely helpful and answered all my questions and very easy to work with. I did a refi with you a few years ago and also had a great experience, thank you so much for making the whole process painless! With the rising credit card rates, it makes perfect sense to get HELOC with low interest rate.

An innovative lending platform that WORKS ! Streamlined and efficient process that gets the paperwork stage quickly out of the way so you can get to closing and funded QUICKLY ! There were a few small hiccups with the notary/title company that sidelined the process temporarily at the end but overall they were minor and inconsequential. Brie was TERRIFIC ! We will be working with BETTER Mortgage again soon !
Buying a new house seems to be a complicated deal. But with better , small tasks are quite easy to complete, and uploading any kind of documents was siper easy. Everything is done through e signing ,and you can schedule calls with the helpful Better team, thanks Maxine and Katherine for making this experience a breeze!

I used better mortage after looking at multiple different lenders and swapped from rocket mortage to better. I noticed that better was the ONLY lender that let me see the rate table and choose the one that fits me best. The tasks were completed piece by piece and were not done overwhelmingly. Throughout the entire process I was able to email Ashley or Someone from the loan department who was friendly willing & able to help me out with any concerns. We closed early, they are in California so it was awesome being able to have support after work in the eastern time zone. I even received a $2000 AMEX credit after 5 days of closing + multiple discounts on my loan. I have referred them to other friends and family. 10/10 Would HAPPILY use again.
Very smooth experience in general. Checking the calculations of various loan terms and amounts, submitting information and documents was very easy with the website. Their customer service was very quick and helpful in dealing with any trouble. Much better interest rates than I found elsewhere.
We recently purchased a home and used better mortgage as our lender. The process was really smooth with minimal work on our part. We submitted the requested documents and better mortgage took care of the rest. The interest rates are fair and you can generate estimated loan documents to gauge what your closing costs will be and what you can ultimately afford. Overall I think better mortgage is beating rocket mortgage at their own game.

Overall, working with Better was easy, and the rate could not be beat. Ravon and Courtney were responsive and made sure everything was ready for closing. The only reason for 4 stars is an issue with closing costs. For some reason, when Better evaluated the property tax the day before closing, it was $2k more than the previous estimate. It would have been better if that was finalized sooner.
The folks at Better were responsive, attentive, and extremely patient despite my nervous calls - they picked up and answered me completely every single time. Also they offered the best rates and truly try to get you the best possible terms - not just make a deal. My loan officer Adam, my coordinator Andre, and Robert who set me up initially were amazing. Truly made the loan process easy to understand and manageable, despite how stressful it can be to buy your first home.

Had a great mortgage experience with Better. My loan officer, John Elliott, was helpful, patient, and answered questions quickly. This housing market is stupid. Rates are higher than they've been for awhile, housing values are also high, and inventory is low. It took months of looking to find a place, and John was there to update rates and answer my questions through it all. I could not have had a better experience with Better - did I mention they offered the best rates and lowest fees of the 4 lenders I compared?? When my offer was accepted, Andre Montagne was added as a team member to process the loan - he was also quick to respond to questions online or on the phone - I received calls at different milestones, which was above and beyond, in my book. This is my families third time using better. The process is always easy and seemless. We did run into some issues this time and it showed how not being able to talk to the the actual underwriter is a pain. In Traditional lending I would have been able to talk to the underwriter. But overall the experience was good and will continue to use them if price is right.
