Easy Application Process, But…
I was honestly surprised by how easy the application process was. I started looking at pre-approval offers for various lenders on Christmas Day (which fell on a Thursday this year), and I ended up accepting an offer from SoFi and getting approved in around 10 minutes (entered all my information, took a selfie, uploaded my driver’s license and paystub, and then electronically signed the loan documents). I chose to have them pay 3 creditors directly to receive a .25% interest deduction and disperse the rest of the funds to my bank account. The funds that were sent to my creditors ALL posted the following day on 12/26/25. However, for some inexplicable reason SoFi held the remaining funds (my bank confirmed there were no pending deposits or ACH transactions of any kind) until the following week, and that destroyed my opinion of the process. Had the credit card funds not posted the following day (to three different companies), I wouldn’t have thought anything of it… I wasn’t expecting to receive the funds until at least Monday anyway… but knowing SoFi intentionally (and selectively) placed a 2-3 business day hold ONLY on funds scheduled for direct dispersal, ruined what would’ve been a really great experience. It’s not that I had to wait an extra 4 days… it’s that the wait felt unnecessarily arbitrary, frivolous, and heavy handed… like the hold was placed SOLELY against accessible cash of an untrustworthy borrower… except the loan was already signed. I just wish they hadn’t sent ANY of the funds early tbh, because it only made me regret taking out the loan.

$300.00 sign up bonus is a scam, I never got mine
I signed up for SoFi and have my paychecks direct deposit but I didn't get the 300.00 bonus that SoFi offers still today when you open an account with direct deposit. I've had my account for 3-4 months now. The downfall I would say is that you can't send yourself money... I have another checking account as well and I could send myself money from that account to other checking accounts but I can not do it with SoFi using Zelle.

It was easy to apply the terms and offers were very clear and we able to make a decision that best fit our budget yet did not have a hugely long payback period. Once approved, funds were made available very quickly. And there is always a communication advising of upcoming scheduled payment and statement. As well as keeping us apprised of how much progress weve made to paying it off. My only concern, if I may raise one is the constant barrage of emails asking me to apply for more loans. the online system is easy and intuitive. I was surprised at how responsive you guys were and when I needed to talk to a person it was fast and easy and answered all my questions. They even offered to help if there was a hard credit pull and I was denied, they said I was approved and that likely wouldn't happen but if it did they would assist in getting that cleared so I could qualify for another company. I thought that was unique and very cool of your team. My rate was more than half the rate of other banks offering to "help" you manage debt consolidation. I am truly grateful for the real help and ease of working with this group of people who actually seem to care about really helping.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5-Star Review for SoFi Last month and again this month, I dealt with several frustrating issues involving delayed transactions between SoFi and my car insurance company, Progressive. These delays caused other payments to fail, which created a stressful situation. While I acknowledged that a few of the failed transactions were on my end, the major issue was between SoFi and Progressive—and neither company initially took responsibility. What I didn’t realize was that my concerns had already been escalated to SoFi’s Customer Advocacy Team, and that’s when things took a turn for the better. I want to specifically recognize Jazlyn H. from the advocacy team, whose professionalism and sincerity were truly appreciated. She took the time to fully review my situation, explain what happened, and acknowledge that the source of the delay—whether on SoFi’s side or Progressive’s—couldn’t be fully confirmed. Even so, SoFi still stepped up, apologized, and credited my account $80 to cover the late fees I was hit with. I also want to thank Zane, who communicated with me by email on 12/05 and again by phone on 12/08. He was patient, informative, and genuinely concerned about making sure the situation was resolved the right way. In the end, I chose to stay with SoFi because of how they handled this. Most companies no longer show this level of care, accountability, or appreciation for their customers—but SoFi did. They went above and beyond to earn back my trust and my business. Thank you, SoFi, for still treating people like people—and for having team members like Jazlyn and Zane who truly make a difference.

Was asked for a 1099 for confirmation of income and then was told they couldn’t use the information towards the application. Asked the same for the co-borrower
