I have Savings and Checking accounts with PenFed Credit Union. I also have Checking and credit card accounts with other institutions. My experience with PenFed has been very good in the sense that the PenFed website and app are very easy and straightforward to maneuver around. I also appreciate the higher than average interest in my PenFed Premium Savings account. Now, that I no longer need my JetBlue credit card, I decided to get a PenFed credit card to have most of my accounts with PenFed because throughout the years they've gained my confidence and appreciation. The credit card application process was quick and easy and I got a response in less than a minute. Thank you PenFed!

While trying to apply for a credit card on line, I had a log in error. I normally use face recognition to log in, but the app wanted my user name and password that I have not used for a long time. After that was resolved, she took my card application on the phone. This was absolutely the most pleasant customer service I have experienced in many years.

I needed some cash for a car. Penfed website made it very easy to apply for a loan and it was quickly approved and sent to my checking account.

Don’t Take a Chance with PenFed
I had a horrible experience trying to close on a new home because of PenFed. The date was rescheduled by a day and I still didn’t get the keys to my home on the rescheduled day. I had also made appointments and plans for the weekend after closing based on the loan processor saying they will have things done for closing on the rescheduled day. It didn’t happen. Their communication was horrible and/or false statements about being able to close at the scheduled time. Since this was a Friday and was actually supposed to close Thursday I am paying for utilities for four days in which the home builder can still go in and out of the house to check on things inside the house and run up the water bill and electric as they prepare the house as well. My loan processor Rob abandoned me on my closing day. He only called back once after the scheduled time for closing had passed by and already home after the attorneys office said that they couldn’t give me the keys because PenFed didn’t send their wire documents. The date of experience was 5/31/2024.
