I decided to call Select Quote after…
I decided to call Select Quote after retiring earlier this year. I no longer had life insurance through my job & I wanted to make sure that my kids wouldn't be responsible for any of my debts such as funeral arrangements. The process took a little over a month but every agent that I talked to along the way was very helpful. They made sure that they called to keep me informed as to what was happening or if any additional information was needed. Today I completed the process with the help of agent Brian Holscher. He was able to assist me with some final questions that I had. Like I stated all of the agents from my 1st phone call on were very helpful. Overall the experience was frustrating in that you are receiving many messages to fill this out and that out, get your blood drawn and then when you have a question there is no direct number to speak to a person. Then after I have signed all my documents I am still receiving emails to urgently sign my documents which were completed 3 days ago. Too many pieces to the puzzle with select quote and Prudential.

Everything was acceptable.. the only thing I didn't like was that the initial quote that I was given for my premiums is not what the final quote was.. of course you make that well known... but still I almost didn't take the policy because the premiums were much more than what I was really intending to pay.... Select Quotes kept me constantly informed concerning the status of my application which I appreciated it. I certainly didn't like the fact that it took over 3 months for the whole process to be completed. I forwarded to Pacific Life all the information they requested concerning my health records..it never seemed to be enough and each time they would find one little tidbit about my health they would want to raise their monthly premium estimate.. Overall I'm perfectly healthy other than high blood pressure but yet I was penalized for that by them increasing my monthly premiums... The only way I could afford it was to reduce the length of my policy from 15 years to 10 years but my monthly premiums were again increased more than what I was initially quoted.. it's very frustrating. The work that select quotes did on my behalf was satisfactory...Thanks

I was told policies could be split after the initial assessment - this process took more than 30 days. It is possible but it was alot of effort, phone calling and follow up on my end. No less than 15 calls, and 6 weeks later it finally happened.

My complaint is more with the insurance companies than with Select Quote. There was just way too much running around required to get my plan settled. These companies have non-medical people looking through your records and determining what should be a reason for concern, and they don't know what they are looking at. Just because something in a health record has a big name you don't understand doesn't make it serious.
