I have 3 high interest credit cards…
I have 3 high interest credit cards with about 10K in balances. Seemed like making monthly payments barely changed the amount owed because so much was going to interest. Decided I'd try to see if I could get a loan to consolidate the debt with a lower interest rate. Downloaded the SoFi app on a Sunday, set an amount that I'd like to borrow, got a few options for different lengths with different monthly payment, picked the one that was right for me, submitted the request for the loan. Within a few minutes, I was approved! Sent in a pay stub to verify income and provided my credit card information and totals and that was it! I was approved on a Sunday without any hassle or need to talk to anyone at all. The very next day, all 3 of my credit cards has pending payments for their entire balances. Couldn't be more happy with SoFi. I took 3 credit cards with about 30% interest and turned that same debt into a loan with only 10% interest with zero hassle and zero worries.

Good but could be much better
I love the app and how it encourages saving and tracking your spending. The APY is great as well, though it has gone down every several months (from around 4.2% to 3.2%). The cons of Sofi are not having a physical ATM for cash deposits or withdraws, which was very inconvenient when I needed quarters. I had to make a bank account with Wells Fargo just to get quarters and then closed the account the same day. They also aren’t very accurate with the spending trackers within the app, so you still have to do a lot of manual tracking. And worst of all, they are useless when it comes to fraudulent charges. They just cancel your card and mail a new one, instead of disputing the actual charge with the offender. That’s been frustrating because I’ve had my card cancelled twice already in two years and they didn’t dispute or block the fraud charges. I don’t feel protected or like my money is secure. I’ve only lost around $125 in fraud charges so far, but I can’t imagine if I had $1,000 or more stolen because Sofi would just let it happen and cancel my physical card after the fact. They need to improve their security and have a better process in place for fraud charges.

It wasn’t made clear not only by the advertising but in a non vocalized deal it wasn’t clear and it definitely was too costly! I came to SOFI as a credit card holder and eventually came over as an online banking customer. Recently i went to get a cash out refi on a property that i own free and clear. I also have perfect credit. They told me 2 weeks which is typical for this i believe but now it has gone over a month and they keep asking to reload the same documents and changing people I'm working with. This has been the most frustrating refi i have ever dealt with. Banking is good. CC is good. Loan Department worst experience ever.

The experience of applying and getting approved for a personal loan was straightforward and hassle-free. Actually it was easier than working directly with an actual person - surprisingly. I was approved for the exact amount I requested shortly after submitting all of my requirements. SoFi continues to stay in touch with me weeks after my loan approval and never did I ever feel forgotten or confused about the entire process. Why because when you need to get cash is a whole problem they denied the access to the cash more than the 300 minimum in the automatic machine if you need as me 500 and is your m9ney and if you try to contact them is a whole consecutive pro conversational stuff and you loose time forever this is not good for me I only do because I am still waiting my residency when I get it is done because here you don have time to loose sorry

I recently took out a loan to consolidate my credit card debt. SoFi was great to work with. It was a seamless process. The system was user friendly and I found it easy to download all the paperwork required. Through the whole process I only had to speak to one person because I was on the road and not able to electronically respond that one day. I have never experienced an easier process with a very positive outcome. Now my cards are all paid and I just have to pay the loan off now. I’m relieved and SO glad I found SoFi.
